Common First-Date Confusions (and Solutions!)

Dating can be a form of gambling as you never know how it might turn out which is probably why some dates result in awkward situations. To avoid this, I’ve come up with a few ways to leave a more appealing impression on someone especially if it's the first date.

1.      Paying the bill
Guys, personally, I believe most women would prefer if the man  pays on the first date. However, if the woman insists on paying, don’t let you male ego escalate, thinking that you need to be a man and ‘take charge of the situation’. Although the woman would appreciate that you aren’t a cheapskate, she would be more appreciative if you didn’t act like your manhood is at risk.

2.      Kissing
“You should definitely kiss on the first date! How would you know if there will be a second date otherwise?!” says Scarlett Johanson. Well, I totally agree with her as long as you actually want there to be a second date! If you are totally repulsed by him or her, we have a pretty good method to avoid the weird hug or kiss! It is simple, all you have to do is extend your hand out for a handshake at the end of the date. This way, your date will get it and not try anything else, hopefully.

3.      Drinking
Alcohol – the cause of many disasters. If you are the type of person who can’t hold your drink, well avoid it completely. If your date offers you a drink, just tell him or her you’re on a cleansing phase. If alcohol doesn’t really bring out the devil in you, a couple of apple martinis are perfectly fine!
