We live in a world where being judgmental is a norm. People think they can pass remarks on whomever or whatever
they want even without fully grasping the situation.
Basically, what I’m trying to say is if a woman is seen dating
many guys, immediately she is labelled as a slut, especially here in Malaysia. In addition to that, people scrutinize every detail of her dating life such as the way she dresses
or the types of guys she dates. Leave it to society to pin point every part of
your life that is "wrong".
Oddly enough majority of the people making these ruthless
comments are women themselves. Surprising isn’t it? Well, you see, I have a
theory – when a woman sees other women dating whoever they like, a hint, well
more than a hint of jealousy strikes them. Why? Because they don’t dare to do what is considered wrong by society. Therefore, when they see women who don’t bother about what other people think, they make negative comments. This is out
of spite since they secretly wish they could be like the women who have a lot of fun dating.
The thing about dating is a woman gets to choose how
far it goes since she is in control of her choices. Whether she just wants to
meet different guys or she wants sex, it is completely her choice. Of course,
not every guy would want the same thing she does which is why dating comes
into play. After all, dating is a quest to find out what you like, what you don’t
and who has all these qualities you are looking for.
So if you are called a slut for making your own choices and experiencing
the different types of men out there, screw society. Be the author of your own
life, do what makes you happy; whether it is to date one guy, five guys or even a
woman, it is completely up to you! Making your own choices can very
well make you a more liberated and independent woman!
Anyway, this is just my point of view and it could seem like a feminist one. The funny thing is the tables are turned when it comes to
men. Men who date a lot of women are considered studs, especially when they
manage to get women into bed. Well, double standards are hard to escape in our world.
